Sales Information
Our Guarantee
It is our goal to provide you with healthy rabbits that will fit your needs. We will never knowingly sell an unhealthy rabbit. We will replace or refund the purchase price of any of our rabbits that have been determined by a veterinarian (within 5 days of purchasing) to have a pre-existing health condition that leads to illness or potentially death. We guarantee the health of our rabbits for up to seven days after leaving us.
We cannot guarantee how any animal will perform in a breeding program or on the show table. We do, however, guarantee that all of our animals sold as show animals are free from any disqualifications at the time of purchase. Breeding and pet quality animals may have faults or minor disqualifications that you will be informed of before your purchase. We will do our best to inform you of any faults a rabbit may have and provide you with copies of all records concerning that rabbit.
Purchasing Our Rabbits
We would be happy to share with you information on any of our rabbits we have for sale including pictures. Our rabbits are sold on a first come first serve basis. We do reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason. If we do not have what you are looking for, we would be happy to put you on our waiting list or refer you to another reputable breeder.
Our rabbits will not be allowed to go to their new homes until they are at least 6-7 weeks old. We may hold some rabbits for as long as 10 weeks.
When you purchase one of our rabbits, you will also receive:
- Information on the proper care for your rabbit
- A small bag of the food that your rabbit has been raised on. You MUST NOT change their food until they are at least 9 weeks old, as this could cause intestinal problems.
If for any reason you are unable to keep your rabbit, we will gladly take him/her back at any time with no questions asked.
Rabbit Quality Terms
All of our stock is guaranteed to satisfy the purpose we have sold it for or your money will be refunded. By this we mean that all show quality animals will be free from disqualifications and breeders free from reproductive problems at the time of purchase.
Pet Quality:
Rabbits sold as “pet quality” are just that – pets. They should not/can not be bred or shown. We recommend that pet rabbits be spayed or neutered after six months of age to prevent certain types of cancers and other potential health problems. Our pet rabbits come with a birth certificate, but not a full pedigree.
Showable:
Rabbits sold as “showable” can be shown. They have no known disqualifying elements. There is no guarantee as to how well they will show.
Breeding Quality:
Rabbits sold as “breeding quality” usually are not able to be shown, but can be used to produce showable stock. Reasons can vary from stray hairs, broken toes, long ears, over the weight limit and so on. They are still nice rabbits capable of producing great kits. In fact, many people like using BUDs (Big Ugly Does) in their program because they are able to carry larger litters. They differ from “proven breeders” as they have NOT had a previous litter. There is no guarantee on their breeding.
Proven Breeder:
Rabbits sold as “proven breeders” are “breeding quality” but have proven themselves able to produce litters as they HAVE had/produced previous litters.
Show Prospect:
Rabbits sold as “show prospects” can be shown, and in my opinion have a good chance of placing. My opinion is based on the rabbit’s pedigree and current condition. There is no guarantee as to how well they will show.
Proven Shower:
Rabbits sold as "proven showers" have been shown before and have placed well.
Rabbit Prices
These are the general guidelines that we use to select the price of our rabbits. We reserve the right to price any rabbit as we deem appropriate.
LIONHEADS
Pet quality: $35
Showable: $40 - $60
Breeding quality: $40 - $60
Proven breeder: $45 - $85
Show prospect: $50 - $105
Proven shower (placed well): $65 and up
NETHERLAND DWARFS
Pet quality: $15
Showable: $15 - $25
Breeding quality: $15 - $25
Proven breeder: $20 - $45
Show prospect: $30 - $60
Proven shower (placed well): $45 and up
“Holding” a Particular Rabbit
In most cases, purchased rabbits can be paid for and taken home in one visit. However, if for any reason you need us to hold a rabbit you are planning to purchase, a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of rabbit price will be required. You may need us to hold a rabbit for reasons such as: waiting for adequate transportation, time needed to set up facilities or maybe the kits need to be weaned. We will hold any rabbit for up to 7 days. After that, a boarding fee will be charged (see “Boarding”).
Reserving Upcoming Kits
Upcoming kits may be reserved as soon a breeding has taken place by paying a $40 deposit. Since there is no way to plan for sure how a breeding will turn out, we advise buyers placing reservations on kits to make a 1st and 2nd choice selection. For example: someone wants a female kit from “Doe A” and “Buck A” and that breeding only produces male kits. That customer’s second choice was a female kit from “Doe B” and “Buck C”. The customer will then receive a female kit from the 2nd choice set of parents. All reserved kits can be housed at our property until they are 8 weeks old. After that, a boarding fee will be charged (see “Boarding”).
In the rare case that we are unable to present the reserved rabbit to you, you may choose from other available rabbits. If we are unable to find the perfect match for you, we will refund your deposit in full.
Boarding
We will be happy to board any rabbits that you plan on purchasing that needs to stay longer than the allotted reservation time. The fee for boarding is as follows: - Waiting for your rabbit to be bred: $.10 per day - Animal has been purchased but can not be picked up yet: $0.25 a day for first ten days and $1.00 a day after Boarding fees must be paid in advance unless other prior arrangements have been made.
Cancelled Orders
If for any reason you need to cancel an order, we understand – life happens to everyone! However, this is a business transaction and we will be unable to refund your original deposit.
Shipping
Sorry, we do not ship our rabbits at this time.
Delivery
Delivery of your purchased rabbit is available for an additional charge. Due to the increased price of gas, the delivery charge fee is currently $.25 per mile, but is subject to change. We will deliver anywhere within 60 miles of Rhome, TX (76078). If you need a rabbit delivered further than that, please let me know and I will try to set something up.
We deliver for FREE to any show we are attending, but arrangements must be made well in advance.
Payment
We will accept cash, credit/debit cards (via PayPal – fees to be paid by buyer) and personal checks. However if we accept a check, it must clear before the rabbit can be picked up or delivered. Payment is due for all rabbits before or at the time of pick-up or delivery unless other prior arrangements have been made.
